Promoting Excellence in HO Scale Vehicle Modeling

1922 Autocar Stakebed Truck - By Randy Sawyer

This 1/87 scale model of a 1922 Autocar Stake Bed Truck was built from scratch in August of 2005 and is based on an illustration found in an out of print book, "American Truck Spotters Guide 19201970". Styrene and brass were used to build the cab and chassis. Circus Craft Wagon Wheels with filed and stretched 3/8" plastic tubing were used to simulate the wood spoked wheels and solid rubber tires. The model features a deck and side rails built with Northeastern Scale Lumber, a driver figure by Preiser, and measures exactly 2-13/16 inches long. Also shown in Photo Gallery 289.
