Promoting Excellence in HO Scale Vehicle Modeling

Freightliner Coronado Hay Hauler - By Günter Storch

This Freightliner Coronado B-Train is running for a fictitious company. In Alberta (Canada) trucks are used to transport hay to feed cattle and horses and sometimes they have pretty big loads. Günter Storch created the company Alberta Low Loader Service to use all that pretty yellow colored trucks so they only need a blue frame.

In the case of this model it's a Coronado from SIKU that he's modified a little bit and added two shortened low loaders (drop deck trailers) from Promotex. The first with the deep drop bed has a three-axle suspension with mounted fifth wheel also from Promotex. Günter took care to build the exact length of both trailers the same as the prototypes. The load of hay is made from yellow grass (NOCH) glued on a block of insulation board.
