This Great Lakes Express tractor-trailer from Fred Gruin was built using a Lindberg Ford WT1000 tractor cab with an added integral sleeper, scratchbuilt frame, bogey, mirrors, and fuel tanks (from round pencils), brass air horn, stainless steel tubing exhaust stack and air cleaner, Lindberg wheels on the steering axle, and Wiking wheels on the drive axle. The trailer is a 42.5' van scratchbuilt with Promotex running gear and Wiking wheels. The Great Lakes signs are copies from company printed material.
