Promoting Excellence in HO Scale Vehicle Modeling

International R-190 & Prentice Log Loader - By Dennis Raper

This vintage logging truck from Dennis Raper represents a model of one of the first log loaders that Prentice ever built. Dennis built the model with one photo to work from. The same picture is on Hank's Truck Pictures. He built the loader from styrene with a ladder from a Kibri kit. Dennis used aluminum tubing and some pins for the cylinders. The loader seat came from an Ertl John Deere tractor. The truck is a Classic Metal Works International R-190. Dennis stripped, repainted, lengthened the chassis, removed fuel tanks, added mirrors, and added "running boards" to replicate the photo and added a hydraulic tank on the chassis for the loader. The scratchbuilt chainsaw is a Pioneer brand. The can for the chainsaw gas is from ROCO and the figures are from Prieser. Weathering was done with Bragdon's Weather System soot and dust bowl brown.
