Promoting Excellence in HO Scale Vehicle Modeling

Peterbilt 379 "Large Car" & 53' Dropdeck Flatbed - By Joe Bohannon

Here's another look at Joe Bohannon's Peterbilt 379 that started as a Highspeed/Boley Peterbilt 377. It's had its die-cast sleeper and hood cut off. A Promotex hood was then added with an upgraded Peterbilt grill from Trucks N' Stuff with an American Flag screen painted on. Headlights were backdated to the round style by using the emergency spot lights from a Busch parts kit. The LCS was custom built. It all rides on a Promotex chassis lengthened to 350" wheelbase. The front wheels are Model Power with A-Line wheels. The rear wheels are Promotex with Herpa european style tires added. The trailer is a Promotex tri-axle drop deck repainted to represent aluminum with wheels from Promotex and low profile tires on their chrome rims. The load is brand new tin cans from Trucks N' Stuff strapped down following the advice from some flatbed drivers. The paint job is finished with automotive paint and the graphics come from a Revell model car kit. This Pete 379 is the "show and shine truck" for the fictional ATCO Transportation. Also shown in Photo Gallery 272.
