Promoting Excellence in HO Scale Vehicle Modeling

Vintage Steam Roller - By Randy Sawyer

This model of a vintage steam road roller was constructed in November of 2004 from scratch using styrene and brass. The model has its design based on photographs of a German made steam roller model found on the internet. The large rear spoked wheels are by Grandt Line and the flywheel was taken from a tractor kit by Snapperroo. The driver figure is a Preiser unpainted figure that was painted by hand with Humbrol enamels with the position of the right arm changed to make it appear as if he were driving the tractor. The model was made to look rusty by brushing on dry paint pigments after the enamel was applied.
