Jim Groeneweg built this Sterling LT8500 roll off truck using a resin cab from a Jacobs Models Sterling AT113 kit with roof fairing deleted and clearance lights, wheel flares and modified front bumper added. This configuration is not offered as a kit.
These shots show the Sterling in several positions with a 40 yard roll off bin. The bin is a Walthers' item on the highly modified Boley roll off frame. The original Boley version did not allow the rails to contact the ground for ease of load/unloading. The chassis is from Kibri, cab from the aforementioned Jacobs Models resin kit, wheels from Athearn (front, modified to flotations), and rears from Lonestar Models. Jim used a Masterbilt Models heat shield on scratchbuilt exhaust, A-Line fuel tank, interior from a Tonkin Freightliner Columbia, windshield from Herpa Scania, painted in an R-M Automotive Acrylic Enamel fleet color. The bin color is a "cocktail mix," no formula. The resin tarp attached to the tool box is resin from a fellow modeler.
