This Kenworth T800 truck tractor and set of 28' pups were built by Bob Johnson in early 2001 for a retiring Viking Freight employee in Santa Clara, California. He recently stumbled on a batch of old photos of this model and submitted some we've not seen before. Bob used the excellent out of production Kenworth T800 cab conversion resin kit from Dennis Aust for the basis of his model. The chassis is a modified Herpa that was shortened to the prototype's 155 inch wheelbase. The wheels are from A-Line, mirrors from Plano Model Products, and decals from Microscale. The roof airfoil is a modified Promotex Freightliner part and the side fairings and extenders were fabricated from styrene. Bumper, battery box, and fuel tank (not shown) are all detail pieces from Dennis Aust. The pair of 28' Wabash National pups were built from Rail Power Products kits with a convertor dolly from Herpa.
