Promoting Excellence in HO Scale Vehicle Modeling

International 4900 Water Truck - By Richard Olson

Richard Olson says he finally finished another model that’s been 15-years in the making. This is an IHC International 4900 cab mounted on an Con-Cor/Herpa chassis rolling on Atlas wheels and tires. The fuel tanks and battery boxes are from Boley. The water tank is scratchbuilt by wrapping thin styrene over the end and bulkhead (which caused the side ‘dents’) shapes. Fill hatch, piping, ladder, rear push bumper and spray plumbing and hose reel were added. Detailing included new headlights, taillight housings and wiring, hose with nozzle, scratchbuilt exhaust, A-Line mudflaps, and Roco mirrors. Paint is generic Duplicolor white with a bit of chalk weathering.
