This Peterbilt Pete 579 day cab from Jim Groeneweg features a Tonkin/Trucks N' Stuff day cab paint stripped and repainted with authentic yellow Central Transport fleet color applied in automotive base/clear paint. The side skirts have been removed, the cab mounted on an Athearn Freightliner chassis with 5 hole steel wheels from the Athearn C Cab Ford series installed. The fuel tank steps were scratchbuilt, battery box step is a modified Promotex Kenworth item, DEF tank cut down from a resin Freightliner part, and the deck step plate is from Tonkin. The roof and side air dam was semi-scratchbuilt from another Jacobs Models resin casting and modified to fit the cab.
The trailer is an A-Line/Athearn exterior post van that has the rear barn doors removed, A-Line roll up door fitted and a modified rear DOT bumper completes the basic unit, which was then masked and painted. The whole unit had the authentic yellow Central Transport fleet color applied in automotive base/clear paint. Decals are from Graphics On Demand.
