Jim Groeneweg says the Renault truck rebadged as the Mack Midliner is not one of his favorite prototype trucks it was a project that needed to be done with the Magirus and Renault variants available from Roco. Jim's model is based on the Magirus cab with a few grilles from a Renault that fellow modeler Kurt Hofmeyer supplied along with a White Road Commander for the headlights. Several grilles were spliced together and sectioned in to the lower grille surround added the the Magirus cab then the headlights installed and an upper grille section grafted in from the Renault supply. The rest of the parts are from Roco with the mirrors scratchbuilt along with exhaust stack and air breather. It is hooked into an Athearn Road Ready 20' China Shipping can (container) and chassis. The truck is finished in a metallic green (Atomic Transport) for the cab and Holly Green (1960 Ford Truck) for the chassis; wheels and bumper were painted in Testor’s aluminum.
