Jim Groeneweg built this very impressive Kenworth W900 truck tractor and 40' Trailmobile covered flatbed trailer by modifying an Athearn Kenworth truck tractor model and a Lonestar Models 40" Trailmobile flatbed trailer kit. Jim began by lengthening the tractor chassis, removing the old style Kenworth steps from the cab and adding Dennis Aust battery box steps along with fuel tanks and a gull wing bumper. The frame was painted to match the cab. A roof mounted A/C unit was added, aluminum tubing with Masterbilt Models heat shields installed was used to replace original exhaust stacks giving the model the typical "kick back exhaust elbow" so common on these KWs. K&S brass sheet was used to fabricate the half fenders. Additional details include rear mud flaps, radiator mounted bug deflector, windshield wipers, convex mirrors, front mud flaps, rear load lights, CB antennas, grab handles and license plates from Pen Bay decals; "KW" and Kenworth decals are from Paul Kittle.
