French Military 1939 GMC Truck - By Rick Hoskinson

Rick Hoskinson built this French military 1939 GMC truck using the Sylvan Models 1939 Jimmy left over from his Ford COE project. Rick decided to build a model of one of the 2000 trucks manufactured for the French army and then later captured and placed into service in the German army. The cargo bed and spare tire rack were scratchbuilt from Evergreen styrene and the rear fenders were made by splitting styrene tube in half. The tires are from a Roco Henschel G33 model. A tow hitch, Notek blackout light, shovel, jerry cans, and A-Line windshield wipers are some of the details added. Other details include scratchbuilt lollipop mirror, license plate frames, tail light housing, fuel tank and exhaust system. This truck was equipped with a tip out windshield so Rick chose to model it in that position. Paint is Panzer Grey with washes with dry brushing and dry pigments applied for the weathering affect. Rick used TL decals for the license plates and MV Products lenses for the tail light.
