Promoting Excellence in HO Scale Vehicle Modeling

1954 Ford Vanette Fire Rescue - By John DaPos

John DaPos built this fire rescue van splicing two Woodland Scenics step vans to lengthen the vehicle. The wheels are from River Point Station. John removed the existing grille and used a grilleĀ from a 1954 FordĀ pickup that was in his "boneyard." John added clearance lights and rescue light accessories from Busch. The window glass is made with Krystal Clear. Windshield wipers and side mirrors are from the spare parts box. John made a loud speaker out of a tin train bell and painted it dull red. This vehicle is supposed to represent a well traveled fire vehicle that was kept in service until the late 1970s. It is not the one that was polished for parades.
