1946 Chevrolet MS4400/Kronenburg Fire Pumper - By Jan Scheele

Jan Scheele built this Chevrolet MS4400 from Classic Metal Works into this Dutch fire pumper using a Kronenburg scratchbuilt body. The truck was put into service in 1946 and built by the Dutch fire truck company, Kronenburg, in Culemborg. It is a typical Dutch truck of the 1930s and 1940s, open body and pump built in the body at the end of the rear of the truck. The colors are what was normal in those days in the Netherlands, a kind of broken white and red, although there where more all red trucks, but also trucks with black fenders and red bodywork. This truck was in service in West-Zaan and later to Langedijk, which painted the truck all red. The photo below is in black and white, just for the look of the photo for a nostalgic look.
