1960 Ford F-350 Rural Fire Rescue Truck - By William Ratcliffe

Finishing in a 4th place tie in the Facebook 1/87 Scale Vehicle Models' group 2017 Build Challenge is this fire company rural "off road" rescue vehicle built by William Ratcliffe starting with the requisite Classic Metal Works 1960 Ford truck. The fire company covers a wide rural area with many hard to reach areas, especially in the wintertime, and they felt that a tough, big wheeled, high, four wheel drive truck with just the basic portable rescue tools would be good to have to reach areas that the larger, heavy rescue couldn't get to. The truck could also be used to ferry equipment to remote areas. In the bed of the pickup, is William's brand new "Rescue tools set" (offered by Ralph Ratcliffe Models) that will be released soon. All of those items are built from scratch. The tires and wheels were custom made by William as well. The wheels are real stainless steel and the tires are ABS, turned on a lathe. The chassis was lifted up quite a bit to give it more ground clearance.
