This spectacular photo by Marcel Devlieger of his 1/87 scale Northwest cable operated excavator is nothing short of spectacular! The model was placed in the foreground and the exposure set such that the background 1:1 scale surroundings are in perfect focus and perspective; well done! The model was built from a Custom Finishing Models pewter kit. All cables work with the drums inside. All parts were filed and sanded true before assembly with aircraft epoxy. All exposed metal parts painted were polished to represent wear. The model was primed and painted with enamel.
