Roger Dowden combined an Imex Peterbilt die-cast cab with an Alloy Forms white metal frame to create this truck. It represents a 1940 Peterbilt tractor, a “mechanics pet,” still in use in the 1960s that has been updated with spoke wheels, modern mirrors, and fuel tanks. Roger opened up the windshield and added the rear window to give a more prototypical appearance. The lowboy trailer is an old Sheepscot Models kit that was shortened with added tie down loops. The Caterpillar D-8 dozer is a modified Rio Grande Models model. Roger widened the seat, moved the tracks rearward, and added cutting edges to the blade for a more correct look.
