Promoting Excellence in HO Scale Vehicle Modeling

Mack-Walter Snow Fighter - By Brian Donato

Here's 1953 Walter snow fighter used by Hopkington, Massachusetts Department of Public Works many years ago. It was eventually refurbished to this configuration with a Mack R cab, steel nose, custom built fenders, and a Cummins engine swap. Just about every major component used to build this model came from Ralph Ratcliffe Models. Additional details include Herpa rotator beacons, Roco lights for fender mounted turn signals, scale chain for the plow and styrene to make the fenders, hydraulic fluid tank, plow push arms, mud flaps, tail lights, and tops and sides of the front bumper. Balsa wood was used for the dump bed side extensions.
