Promoting Excellence in HO Scale Vehicle Modeling

Highway Department International 4900 Sign Truck - By Brian Donato

Brian Donato built this highway department International 4900 sign truck using a die-cast crew cab and chassis from Boley. The bed is a modified Athearn component. The rear apron is made from Boley steps, styrene, and beading wire for hand rails. The cone piles are just one cone each on top with cut sheet styrene stacked underneath to simulate a stack. The barrels and signs are from unknown sources. The signs were cut from printed sheets. The fuel tank is from an Athearn Freightliner chassis and the rear under bed tool cabinet is from Boley. Strobe lights are from Herpa and the work light are from an Athearn fire truck model. The model is painted in Southern Pacific Sunset Red and weathered with powders and MIG powdered pigments sealed in Testors Dullcote.
