Promoting Excellence in HO Scale Vehicle Modeling

1943 Ford V 3000 A COE - By Rick Hoskinson

This 1943 Ford V 3000 A COE is a most unusual truck to see in German military service!  A total of 758 were built in 1943-44 with all wheel drive on the 3 ton chassis.  Rick Hoskinson built this model using the cargo bed from a Sylvan Scale Models 1939 Jimmy grain truck swapped out with the bed on a Sylvan 1938/39 Ford COE model. Scratchbuilt items include lollypop mirror, canvas cover bows, license plate frames, tail light housing, clearance markers, and truck exhaust system. Details added include Notek blackout lamp, pick and shovel, chassis jack, storage boxes, tow hitch, A-Line windshield wipers, and MV Products tail light lenses. Paint is Model Masters Panzer Grey with washes, dry brushing, and dry pigments applied for weathering affect. TL decals for the License plates were used.
