There were many small coal dealers in the area where John Evans grew up. Coal was unloaded and piled on the ground to be sold as needed. John has tried to capture a bit of that action in this scene on his model railroad layout.

The dump truck is the Sylvan Scale Models '48-'53 [Chevrolet] COE resin truck kit , built stock except for the addition of MV Products headlight lenses, Plano Model Products “lollypop” mirrors, and mud flaps. John thought the scene needed a bit of animation other than just the truck so he added a Walthers Old-Time Coal Conveyer working to generate some “revenue”.
