Promoting Excellence in HO Scale Vehicle Modeling

FWD-Seagrave Fire Pumper - By Dave Flynn

This 1976 FWD-Seagrave 1250 gallon per minute pumper was built by Dave Flynn. The prototype was from his home town. Dave built his model from an AHM Mack CF chassis and body and replaced the cab with a resin FWD cab from Ralph Ratcliffe Models. He used wheels from an Athearn Ford fire engine and added two hose reels from a Boley pumper. Dave says he was inspired to build the model because it was his local fire department's 100th anniversary. For comparison Dave included a photo of the real thing stuck in the mud around 1980 (bottom photo). Even 4-wheel drive doesn't always prevent you from getting stuck!
