The story behind this model as told by builder John Soehner: "Returning from the Springfield Train Show where I had displayed 1/87th trucks on my Route87 module I had a few projects to complete. A good friend in the Netherlands wanted me to build a blue 1960s Mack F with an aluminum van. I purchased two Don Mills kits in December and began the project in early February and rationalizing possible problems, I built two slightly different tractors and will have my Dutch friend chose one and the other would be mine." This is the first of the two models featuring the recently released Don Mills Mack F600 resin kit and the 40' exterior post trailer is from Athearn.
