Promoting Excellence in HO Scale Vehicle Modeling

1905 Yorkshire Steam Wagon - By Randy Sawyer

As one can plainly see, this unusual-looking Steam Wagon has a horizontal boiler. It is loosely based on one built by the Yorkshire Patent Steam Wagon Co. in 1905. The model was built in October of 2005 from a photo found in the book, "British Road Steam Vehicles." The model was built with styrene and brass wire, with a wooden deck of Northeastern Scale Lumber. Wheels for the model were made up by modifying Circus Craft Wagon Wheels and adding 3/8" plastic tubing for the tires. Painting was done with Humbrol enamels, and weathering with charcoal. Driver and passenger figures are by Preiser.
