Ford Aeromax/Condor 100' Bucket - By Ed Saunders

Ed Saunders built this Ford Aeromax twin steer from a Herpa Ford tractor with a lengthened chassis frame to accommodate the deck for the boom. The deck was scratchbuilt from Evergreen plastic with pieces and parts from the junk box. Storage cabinets are from Trucks N' Stuff 48ft flatbed trailer kits. Fuel tanks and hydraulic tanks under the deck are from Herpa and Kibri kits. The boom is from Kibri's cement pump truck. The piping was removed from the first section of the boom and at the knuckle the boom was removed and some Evergreen hollow square stock was added with a second section added that slid inside the main boom. The end of the extension boom was fixed from the end the Kibri's cement truck boom and in place Ed fashioned cylinder operated twin buckets for those brave enough to go up. Ed assures us that from his experience they do bounce a lot once they get up in the air extended out part or all the way. Also shown in Photo Gallery 228.
